Healing Community

Spiritual and emotional healing can only come through Jesus. We want to help people in this process by providing support: prayer, encouragement and a listening ear, an inclusive and welcoming community, an opportunity to explore their gifts and interests, and smaller support groups. A healing community is:

Inclusive: people from diverse cultural and social backgrounds are made to feel welcome and are actively included in worship services and other church activities.

Where you can participate: you are free to participate at a level where you feel comfortable. New people are welcome to join in programs and activities when they feel able to, while no one is expected to attend or be involved at levels that negatively affect relationships with family or friends.

Prayerful: prayer is a vital and central part of all that we do. There are specific prayer times, prayer groups and prayer for particular needs. A prayer team is available to pray with people after the service or in their homes.

Facilitating emotional and spiritual growth: this is aided through support groups (Search for Life, the Alpha course, and one-to-one mentoring). It is a hope-filled community where people can be inspired and encouraged in the midst of difficulties.

Holy Spirit led: growth in wisdom and maturity occurs as we are diligent in putting God’s principles into practice in our lives.

Caring: a community where people can share their pain or troubles, knowing they will be listened to and respected. A place where people can be honest and authentic. A community where people feel they belong and are missed when they are not there.

Prayer Meetings

Prayer is a vital part of our community life. There are a number of times during the week when people join in prayer for the needs of the community and mission. Please contact the church office or the Life Together page for details.

Alpha

The Alpha course is an opportunity for anyone to explore the Christian faith. It is a practical introduction to Christianity in the form of a 10-week small group program. It’s relaxed, non-threatening, low-key, friendly and fun. There is a meal together at the beginning of each session which gives you an opportunity to get to know each other. Listen, learn, discuss and discover. Ask anything. Alpha is a place where no question is too simple or too hostile.
