Mission
We believe God is calling us to be a missional community. A missional community is:
- a church that proclaims the gospel
- a community where all members are involved in learning to become disciples of Jesus
- a church where the Bible is the authority in life and practice
- a church that understands itself as different from the world because of its participation in the life, death and resurrection of its Lord
- a church that seeks to discern God’s specific missional vocation for the entire community and for all its members
- Christians that behave Christianly toward one another
- a church that is a community that practices reconciliation
- where people within the community hold themselves accountable to one another in love
- a church that practices hospitality
- a place where worship is the central act by which the community celebrates with joy and thanksgiving both God’s presence and God’s promised future
- a church that is a community with a vital public witness
- a recognition that the church itself is an incomplete expression of the reign of God
- I would add that the church is incarnational in its lifestyle and witness

Modern Consumer Church Church is seen as a dispenser of religious goods and services. People come to church to be fed, to have their needs met through quality programs, and to have the professionals teach their children about God. ‘I go to church’ |

Missional Church Church is seen as a body of people sent on a mission. They gather in community for worship, encouragement, and teaching from the Bible. This supplements what they are feeding themselves throughout the week. ‘I am the church’ |

As part of our focus on mission WRBC provides office space for Servants to Asia’s Urban Poor and Intercultural Training Associates (ITA). ITA provides training in TESOL Certificate IV in teaching conversational English and International English Tutoring.
